Adventures With Turk goes ‘EPIC’. In 2009 Mark and Turk take on The Dog / University River in spring run off. The dog is an extremely remote river of Northern Ontario featuring heavy class III-IV whitewater paddling and ample class V waterfalls. Not for the average paddler. The dog is aggressive and down right mean in high water levels. She starts off soft and she builds, and BUILDS, and BUILDS to a full on furry of mile after mile of raging carnage, one on top of the other. Oh ya … and if you do make it down … its about 30 miles to the nearest man made road. This film documents the first ever descent of this river by packraft. We hiked, we paddled, we camped in crazy cliff side camp sites against sheer canyon walls of granite. Slept snug in our hammocks. And pushed the absolute limit of our bodies with brutal bushwacking ascents of the canyon walls and took a rag-doll pounding in some of the bigger whitewater. Hope you enjoy.
